California Working Families Policy Summit - 2002
Hosted by the California Center for Research on Women and Families, the California Working Families Policy Summit 2002 was held on Friday, January 18, at the Sacramento Convention Center. More than 600 state, legislative and community leaders attended.
The mission of the California Working Families Policy Summit is to assemble leading policy analysts, advocates and legislative stakeholders and provide them with timely and practical information and recommendations on issues identified as priority concerns for working families in California.
We were honored to have the California Legislative Women's Caucus and the California Commission on the Status of Women as Gold Co-Sponsors of the Summit, and many other organizations as Silver and Bronze Co-Sponsors.
The focus of California Working Families Policy Summit 2002 was threefold: CalWORKs, including mental health, substance abuse and domestic violence services; nutrition and physical activity; and child care and after-school care. The Summit was funded by the California Nutrition Network for Healthy, Active Families.
Below, in downloadable format, are the materials made available at the Summit, including the invitation/program, and, by issue area, the recommendations, legislative histories, lists of key publications, and stakeholder lists.
