In February 2009 the Healthy Workplaces, Healthy Families Act (AB 1000) was introduced in the California Assembly. AB 1000 is sponsored by the California Labor Federation and California ACORN, and is championed by Assemblywoman Fiona Ma.
AB 1000 will ensure that all workers in California can earn and use paid sick days for personal illness, to care for a sick family member or to recover from domestic violence or sexual assault,….
